electric range glass top - scratches, cracks, replacement

Looking at buying a used 30" glass top Maytag range. Not yet sure how old but likely to have some scratches, I expect. Wondering what price and job would be like for replacement of the top. Online I see prices up to $600 for glass tops. One description of the repair is just a few screws and clips, in addition to removing the broken glass and disposing of it.

Would like to learn more about prices and difficulty of repair.

Also whether these things scratch so easily they will always be an eyesore. Some places online have suggested this.

Thanks.

Yes..... the glass tops are fairly expensive.
Not too hard to replace.
Couldn't quote a price without a model number.

You've mentioned some of the problems. So, why do you still want a glass top stove?
