Fridge freezer icing up.
12 yr old Kitchenaid fridge's freezer icing up. Cooling fins were iced over so thawed fridge out overnight. Checked that the internal fan was running on startup and reloaded freezer and fridge. Freezer iced up again. Checked drain hose from freezer, it was partially blocked, cleaned it out. Fridge is running. Will it clear the frost buildup in the freezer. Could there be another issue like having to replace motherboard.

It froze up again in one day ?
The entire coil or just an end ?
If yes.... you have too much humid air getting into the box.
It typically takes several days to frost up and the self defrost takes over.
A clogged drain will allow condensate water to drain inside the fridge.
No effect on system operation.
Post the model number of the fridge.

Thanks Pete!
It is a Kitchenaid refrigerator Model # KBRS22KWMS4, S/N K02909800
There is frost over / around all items in the freezer compartment that built up within two days. The opening to the coil is too small to be able to tell much about it.
