Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer not keeping cold anymore

Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer not keeping cold anymore

I rolled the fridge forward from the wall and cleaned the evaporator coils at the back and this did not help.

Next I removed the inside back freezer panel and was surprised that the the evaporator fins/coils were not frozen except for the steel line that comes down from the top part of the freezer. I warmed it up manually with a hair dryer and after about an hour the steel line was frosting/freezing again but the evaporator fins/coils were still warm.
Temperature is currently 50 degrees in both freezer and refrigerator. The freezer fan keeps running and when I did the cleanup of the coils at the back, the compressor was pretty warm/hot so I think it's ok. Also I did hear it shut down for about 30 minutes for a defrost cycle but it's back running now.

Wondering if anyone can help me out here. The Kenmore was purchased in 2008.
Thanks in advance.

Since the compressor is running and the evaporator is not getting cold it is a sealed system problem.
Likely low freon.
Probably not worth fixing as you will need a pro.

As mentioned.... your system has a refrigerant leak and is low.
Unless the fridge is under warranty.... it's time to replace it.

That's a Frigidaire built fridge for Kenmore......probably under Electrolux Canada.

Based on the comments above we purchased a new refrigerator. Since I first posted, the refrigerator lost all cooling capability. Growing up I was used to refrigerators lasting multiple decades and it’s a shame that these newer sealed systems are not worth fixing. This would be the forth breakdown of this refrigerator over the years. Anyway a big thank you to those of you who commented in this thread, much appreciated.

It is unfortunate...... the sealed systems are no longer made to last.
Dehumidifiers have fared even worse.
