What to do with range hood power...

I recently moved into a home that came with a rangehood and was also "roughed in" for an over-the-range microwave. I've purchased a GE spacesaver microwave and am confident I can install this, plus I refuse to pay someone $150 to do it However, I'm a little uneasy about what to do with the power hookup to the current range hood. Would it be safe to simply tape that off with electrical tape and push back inside the wall? If not, what would you suggest?

Thanks,
James

JamesDouglasL, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I would NOT just tape it up and push it in the wall. One, it is against code and could cause future problems. You can install a box (that has to be accessable) and cap off the wires. Or you can disconnect it at the breaker and do what you want to with it. Live lines are not permitted or advisable inside a wall. Good luck with your project.
