GE Spacemaker microwave not heating anymore!

Guys:

First post. This morning my GE spacemaker made a small sound and is not heating anymore. What could it be? Model # is JVM1660BB. Don't have a home warranty and am now wondering what might be wrong. Could it be something I can take care of or should I take some warranty...please help.

thanks!

Wink

Did you check and see if the fuse was ok in it. I know mind did. Put a new one in and everything worked.

fuser problem??

i have similar problem, spacemaker xl1400 looks like running fine, just no heat.

i think if fuser is broken there would be no life for the device at all, so this must be some other problem.

thanks for the replies Ed. Ok, called GE. They say IF its the Magnetron, then the warranty (of 10 years) should hold good. But the labor cost shall need to be borne and they told me that they cannot estimate the labor cost. Labor cost is the discretion of the local repair guy! What could the labor be, for such a repair? They also told me that if I did not choose to get the repair done at that moment, then I need to pay a $70 fee for the repair guy.
