Bissell Pro Heat Clear View Shampooer - no water spraying

I have a Bissell Carpet Cleaner, which has always worked fine, but tried to use it today after letting it sit for some time. It runs fine, and the suction is fine, but it's not spraying water. The soap is coming out fine, but no water.

The water does spray just fine with the pre-treating tools though, it's only from the upright shampooer there is a problem. My initial thought was a clog somewhere but I cleaned it out really good...still does it.

Anyone else ever have this happen? Know any tips to get it working again? Thanks for any assistance.

There is a heater thru which the water is supposed to pass. I've had the heater block clog on numerous occasions. It's a pain, but if you get into the upper section, you can remove the hoses and ream the heater block with a pipe cleaner. I'm about ready to bypass the heater since I don't think it does much good.

Ok, first my opinion - DIY carpet cleaning is not a good idea as the machines lack sufficient power to extract chemicals and water from the carpet. Our leases specifically prohibit tenants from cleaning their carpets by any means other than hiring a pro.

That said, the heater on these machines really is only good for maintaining water temperature. Use the hottest water your tap will provide and you can get by without the heater.
