Microwave died

I have an 18 year-old Jenne-Aire microwave (built in) that suddenly “died” a few days ago. Model M 130. I removed it from the cabinet. Tested the power source (plug) inside the cabinet and that’s got juice. Plugged the unit into another plug in the kitchen, still dead. Tested that plug and it’s hot as well.

Do these things have fuses? Could it be a contact in the door? Or, do these things simply die from old age?

Thanks.

There is a fuse inside, and the interlock switches.

New microwaves are cheap and far superior to what was out years ago. As long as you already have it out, I'd replace it.

I just repaired my 18 year old Sharp built in microwave for $2.25 (the cost of the fuse). It required removing the unit, removing the outer cover and replacing the fuse.

Thank you, everybody

The fuse was the trick! $2.65 at Home depot.

Appreciate it.
