Microwave motor

My microwave motor is broken and i want to change it. The motor is class E, I found one which is class B. Will it fit? What class stands for?

Usually, the class refers to temperature rating of the insulation used in the motor windings. Class E is not used anymore, but class B is a little higher than E was. So if the motor is otherwise correct mechanically and electrically, it should be ok.

Wait! Am I reading this wrong? On a chart I found, the lower the letter the less temp rating. Even though the "E" was not listed the "B" rating was rated at less temp than other higher letters. An "E" would be a higher temp rating than the "B" he wants to replace with.

BTW...I agree it's probably not worth repairing.

Here's a chart that shows E...it is 120C. I agree, it makes no sense, which may be why the system was changed.

Amana Radarange Door Hook Not Available

Hi, A while ago, the upper door hook on our Amana Radarange microwave oven model #AMC6158BCB broke off during use. The unit is probably about 10 years old, but it has not had a whole lot of use and is like new, except for this broken hook. I took the inner trim off to remove the hook bar with two hooks, so I could replace the closing hook mechanism, since the upper hook actuates a switch that allows the magnetron to be turned on. Without that hook, the unit appears to turn on but does not heat, since the magnetron is not actuated. As I pulled off the trim, all the eight very thin tabs that hold it in place broke off from embrittlement over the years - they are as well built as the toys that used to come in cereal boxes made in Taiwan! So now I have one broken hook and eight broken tabs! I contacted Amana about ordering new replacements these two parts that should cost no more than $10 combined, and the customer service rep I spoke with told me that these parts are no longer available and that I would have to purchase the entire door unit, which is on back order - price US $85 !!! Holy mother of Jesus, I bought the entire microwave unit for $100 !!! Since we live in a throw away society, they want people to buy new appliances when a cheap $2.00 part breaks !!! So I told the customer service rep that what this means is that I will avoid both Amana branded as well as Samsung made units (like this one) since they are made with crappy plastics. Since it would be a shame to throw away this oven on account of these two plastic parts being broken, I thought that perhaps there is a way to glue them. The trim is made from PBT 15% and the hook from nylon as indicated on the parts. All glue areas on the two parts are quite small, so the appropriate glues and gluing processes would have to be used to renew these parts to a functional state. Crazy glue, super glue and the like don't work for such repairs, but I have a feeling that there are some that do. Can anyone advise what glue products/processes I would need to do this job? I tried to fix old microwave oven by myself, because its hard to find proper facing on the wall. It looks run, but no heat. I googled here and there. Main fuse is OK, door switch is ok. Some says high voltage diode might be wrong, and I changed, didn't work. I found your website says two disc might be wrong. However I couldn't figure out what is those disc? Both are discs?
