Eureka vacuum handle switch
Eureka "The Boss" 4870 upright vacuum.
The beater bar is not shutting off with the handle in upright locked position. If I push forward on the handle, the bar will stop. So, it seems there is a switch that needs adjustment? My question is where is this switch located?
Also, this vac seems to be making a lot of racket
after I installed a new drive belt. The first belt I installed developed a bad spot after only 2 mos of service. I got a belt from a different source this time.

Although I can't locate it in the exploded diagrams..... it's location should be down by the motor. The following link has the exploded views of the vacuum. At the bottom is a repair video that may help you in opening the motor area up for switch access.

Make sure the beater bar is clean and not wrapped with hair and old carpet fibers.
