Central Vac Unit Near Furnace?

We have a brand new Electrolux central vacuum unit that we want to put it beside our high-efficient natural gas furnace (about 15-20 inches away)... is this ok to do?

The muffler would come out of the vac unit on the side towards the furnace (pointing downward of course)...

Comments anyone?

Mounting the vacuum there should be ok. I'm a little unsure of what you mean by pointing the muffler down, A central vacuum should be discharged outside. If you're pointing the muffler down and venting outside.... keep the discharge away from the furnace fresh air intake if a direct vent unit.

The muffler points downward as there is no outside venting on our new Electrolux vacuum needed (our old Kenmore didn't vent to the outside either)...
