Maytag Microwave blown fuse

My Maytag Microwave suddenly stopped working. panel does not light up and does not work. I replaced a blown ceramic fuse and the light came on and the panel appeared to work. Once I punched in a time and hit start, it blew the fuse again. What is the next step, does this mean a switch has gone bad?

Welcome to the forums.

It can be one of several possible problems.
1) misaligned or damaged safety door switch.
2) shorted magnetron or high voltage diode.
3) shorted high voltage transformer.

Unfortunately there aren't any user serviceable parts inside a microwave other than the fuse.
