Join two central vac hoses

Iím looking to join two central vac hoses that I have lying around. How would you do it?

it will save me the expense and trouble of extending the piping from my vacuum power unit to the front of the garage........and make use of materials I already have.

thx

The good thing about central vac hoses is that the end fittings screw off.
So you would unscrew one end that goes to the wall on one hose and the other end that connects to the wand on the second hose. You want an external type of splice.... nothing that goes inside the hose.

Vacuum hose measures just over 1-1/2"..... close to 1-5/8".
You could try an 1-1/4" PVC coupler which should have an inside diameter of 1.660” (1-5/8”).
If the fit is snug..... you could glue the hoses inside of it.

Many pool places have thread on fittings that may go directly on that hose.

Take a piece of the hose with you when you go to test the fit.
You could also use a rubber coupler....
