Microwave Powers Up, Timer Counts Down, Just No Heating, Carousel Turning
Samsung model info imaged. I think we bought it within 2 years, but likely more than a year old.
That it powers up, oven light is on, and timer counts down with start button press should be a clue.
UPDATE: did chat with human agent at Samsung. Suspected this is a "sensor" issue. She felt that if I tried to get it professionally repaired, cost would exceed a new replacement. Said that a new 1.7 cu ft 1000 W oven would be $230 and this seems likely. We are less than a month away from selling the house, and we can't sell one with a broken microwave. If I can do a repair for little time and little to no cost, I will try. Otherwise, the agent said to contact her for a discounted replacement.

Reason: New Information
We found that holding the door in a certain way causes the oven to work. But it's not consistent. Have to pull the oven off the range and figure out what's going on with the door sensor. I suppose there's a YouTube video for it.
UPDATE: So we pulled the assembly of door switches, tested continuity with a meter, and actually found a switch that had no continuity. Even using tools to scrape the contacts and recondition them, the continuity could not be established. Part ordered from Amazon. Will learn Tuesday.

I will close out this thread as solved. Of the three door switch, it was the bottom door switch. We did the work of testing continuity on the switch (the button holds it closed), and got nonzero ohmmeter reading (no connection). We even took the switch apart, and tried cleaning the contact surfaces. It had a zero reading (connection), but it was spotty.
The switch is about $5.75 on Amazon, took a couple of days for delivery. The oven is now working. I thought it odd the switch lost function within a couple of years of purchase of the new oven.
Good morning, We have a 2011 Whirlpool microwave, model MT4155SPB-5, that runs, heats and works as it should except.... whenever the door is opened it begins to run. ie if we set the timer to a one minute run cycle the display responds, the start button causes it to begin the cycle and at the end of the cycle it beeps and stops. However, when you open the door to remove the food it begins to run again and will continue to run until the door is closed. Hope you guys can come up with a reason. I haven't seen anything like this in the troubleshooting guides. Thanks edit: I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree but the parts break-down shows 3 door interlock switches behind the control panel. I'll try to get the panel off and see what's what. Read More
Anyone know what this thermostat/switch is called? I've found similar but not with the button. It shuts off way too early in my water distiller. Also, want temp range? I assume something over boiling 100 centigrade, they have 40, 110, 150...so I guess it works by closing when hitting the button, then opening upon reaching the rated temp.
If I don't find one, , how would the ones without the button work? "On" when plugged in and under the rated temp? I was thinking til I find one I could operate it like that just connecting the wires and manually taking out the plug each time.
It's a sears distiller 625 345400 but it's so old doesn't look like there's any exact replacements around.
