Question

I own a Genie Model IS550/B garage door opener. During a recent thunder storm, we apparently were hit (indirectly) by lightening. Now, the opener will close just fine but must be manually opened. Any suggestions?

One of the realys has failed. Either replace
the relay or the board.

hello chgilmore,
since u stated your problem started after a ligyhting storm, im betting u got a surge and it fryed a board/relay.
from my own persional experence its cheaper to replaice the entire door opener then have it fixed.

Hope You find the parts!?

I had two Genie IS550/A's and One was destroyed and am currently trying to find a total replacement to maintain consistency between my 2 doors -

Does anyone know where one could find a total replacement Genie IS550/A opener

PS-whats the difference between a IS550/1 ; IS550/2 ; IS550/A ; ISS550/B??
