outlet connected to wall switch

I replaced the electrical outlets and switches in one of my bedrooms. Three of the outlets were wired so that the top plug in the outlet were controlled by a switch on the wall.I re-wired the switch and the outlets exactly the same as before, except I turned the outlets upside down so that the third prong on the plus was on the bottom. Now the switch will not control the top plugs. There are always on... what have I done wrong?

You didn't break out the tabs on the brass-screw side of the receptacles. Carefully compare the receptacles that you removed with the receptacles that you installed and you'll see what I mean.
