faulty fluorescent light

Hi,
I have a 48" fluorescent light hanging over my pool table. It worked fine until contractors recently installed suspended ceiling in my basement.
Now when I turn on the switch the light will not come on til I turn the bulb. Then if I imediately turn the switch again it will come on. If I wait approx 5 minutes it will not come on til I turn the bulb again.
What can I do to repair this
Thanks,
JT

Replace it, or the bulb, or starter or balast. May be a coincident that it started acting up after the ceiling was installed. Depending on the unit it may be cheaper to replace then buying a new starter.

whoever installed your dropped ceiling filled those fixtures with negative energy. negative energy cancels out positive energy. they will never work unless the positive energy is reinstalled. call the contractors and get your positive energy back ASAP. before its too late.
