I am in the process of changing my two prong outlets to three prongs. The house is fifty years old with many versions of wiring in the switches. Do I need to add a ground wire from the green screw on the new outlets to the junction boxe/s in the wall somehow. Or is changing the outlet enough?

if your wiring is in conduit and it is all connected properly and you have metal outlet boxes then tying the green wire to box will work, however if you do not have conduit and even if you have metal boxes the ground has to be ran all the way back to the main panel without a ground installed the only way you can change from a 2 wire to a 3 wire is by using gfi's and then noting that there is no ground DO not put regular 3 prong outlets in as this is a code violation
