Question Cat 5 Wiring

I am trying to wire Cat 5e cable from one room on the 2nd floor of my home to another room on the same floor. The idea was to run the wire up the one wall, then though the attic, then down the 2nd wall. The problem is that it seems that the 2nd wall I am trying to go down has something solid inside of it. I am not sure if it is some sort of insulation or wood. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get down the wall. I tried to use the wire snake that I did the first wall with (which was no problem) but it can only go a few inches in from the top hole and bottom holes i made. Any help would be appreciated.
