life of bulb
check the life of the bulb, you might find your buying a low life bulb, probable one about 1000 hours, in your case this bulb would last 111 days. just about the time span your replacing the bulb. If so try finding a bulb with a longer hour life span.

I don't know if they make them, but you might try 130V bug bulbs. I was going through 120V bulbs at the rate of about 1 per month in my garage door operator. Switched to 130V bulbs and have not replaced since! In our old house, the 130V bulb lasted for at least 1 year ( when we moved ). In our new house ( where we experienced the same situation ), I have replaced the 120V bulbs in both operators with 130V and have been going strong for 3+ months.

The higher the rated voltage the longer the bulb will last! 130 volt bulbs last a lot longer than their 120 volt counterparts. That is why the bulbs that are made to go in exit light fixtures are rated at 145 volts.
If you are going to use the hours rating of the bulb you would have to turn the fixture on and leave it on 24 hours a day to expect to even come close the rated life. This would also have to be done with voltage control so that you don't exceed the voltage rating of the bulb.
You, normally, wont find the higher voltage lamps in the large home improvement stores. Take the time to find a store that sells nothing but lamps and you can get them with any kind of rating that you want. They cost a little more up front but you will be rewarded with buying fewer and replacing them less often.
