CEILING FAN SWITCH
#1

Recently, the fan/light for our stair landing going from the 1st to the 2nd floor stopped. In checking the electrical current for the switches controlling the fan/light, there is current going to the downstairs switch but no current going to the wires that are connected to the fan/light.
The circuit breaker seems fine. The same circuit controls the outlets in our bedroom, that are fine.
What could possibly be the problem?

I assume that if this fan/light is on the stairs that this is controlled by a switch at the top and bottom. Correct? If so, did you check the "upstairs switch"?
How and where did you check the "current" (do you mean voltage?)?
Did anybody change anything recently, or did this failure just spontaneously occur?
Please provide more info and we'll help you out.

If this just happened by itself without anyone touching the electrical associated with the fan switch or power souce. Take out the switch controling the fan and test it for continuity. I suspect that either your switch failed or your fan failed. Most likely a bad contact in the switch or speed control.
