Tricks to removing staples?

Anyone have any suggestions of how to remove metal staples holding Romex in place? I need to remove the staples without damaging the Romex.

Purchase a pair of diagonal cutting pliers with the angle of the cutting jaws offset from the grips which gives a "lever" action when you push down on the pliers to extract the staples."Ideal" or "Klein" are quality pliers.----Good Luck!!!

A pair of linesmen pliers works well. Put them on one side of the staple up aganst the stud and pry toward the stud. They pop right out.

A fence plier is a good tool to use for extracting staples. They have a sharp jaw at the tip that is meant for gripping staples and removing them. That tool can also be used as a hammer and the side opposite the hammer face is a curved claw that is meant for removing stuck staples.
