I bought a 7 watt night light bulb which works in my night light. The bulb that was in it was 4 watts. There are no markings as to whether the max. wattage allowed in the fixture is 4 watts, so if in fact 4 watts is the max allowable wattage, is it unsafe to use the 7 watt bulb?

hello Ralph,
i recomend u stay with the same size bulb or smaller then the orgional. reasion 4 this is larger bulbs give off more heat and cou;d melt your sheild that is on the light and could even possabil;y cause a fire.

Sparky is right you are exceeding the manufacturers design to increase the wattage and probably will cause damage if you do. I also advise you to stay with the wattage or smaller than originally came with the fixture.
