Running new wire in an insulated wall.
#1
I'm remodelling a kitchen and wish to run a couple of new circuits into a finished, fiberglass batt insulated wall. I'll be coming down from the attic and then must go across the wall for outlet installation. What's my best tactic for getting wire into that drywall-covered wall with the least amount of surface disturbance?

Old Guy is right if you have to come from the attic.
I wonder why did you opt the attic over the crawl. If you have a crawl you would be fishing no more down from the panel to the crawl than you would fishing up to the attic from the crawl. This may give you an option from the crawl to get to the area of the wall you want to come up to the receptacles in the kitchen and you would be fishing less distance inside the wall. If you can't fish in the wall then you could pass through the high part of the inside of the kitchen cabinets and eliminate the need for fishing and damage to the walls.
If you must use the attic then Old Guy has you where you need to be. If you can use the crawl then it would in my mind be a better option with less work.
Hope this helps

hello RidingBeggar,
i agree with the others if at all possabel look for another way to get the wire in. fishing an insulated wall is tough, i have had to do it whin no other option was viabel. if fishing the insulated wall is only way then use a steel fish tape and push it down the wall, or if comeing from crawl space or basement push it up the wall, to your cut out for the new box. good luck
