Installing Lights with receptacles

I recently installed 2 receptacles on a new circuit and I would like to add 2 lights to the same circuit now. Can I wire the lights at the beginning of the circuit so the power ends at the receptacle and if so will the switch for lights affect the the outlets at all (I don't want it to)? Can someone help me with some wiring scenerios? Thanks

Almost anything is possible. You can insert a new switch anywhere in the circuit you want (except between an existing switch and what it controls), and run a new cable from the new switch to the new light, without disrupting power to the downstream receptacles. Most books on home wiring give complete details for a project such as this -- not just how to do it, but more importantly how to do it safely. Post back with any specific questions that arise.

If you are asking if you can install the switch ahead of the receptacles and then run to the lights from the last receptacle, the answer is no.

You can come off the receptacle up to a switch and then run from the switch to the lights.
