Question

I have a flourecent ballast for 2, 8 foot tubes. I wanted to know if it was possible to substitute the 2, 8 foot tubes for 4, 4 foot tubes. Or use them somehow to run 4 foot tubes because I don't have enough space for 8 foot tubes. Any help is appreciated.

The NEC forbids you to use or install a UL approved piece of equipment that the equipemnt is not approved for the purpose. This limits you not to adapt or redesign any electrical equipment for use or for design that is not meeting the design it was origanally manufactured to be.

110-3

Sell that one and buy one designed for the use you want.

Hope this helps
