Three Switches

I have three switches running to the same set of lights. How do I wire it?

Do you mean that you want to control one set of lights from three separate switch locations?

You need 2 three way switches and a four way switch. Do you have the wire installed or do you still need to do that. Which location (switch/light etc) does the power come into.

There are many ways to wire it. To describe them all would be mind-boggling.

If you have open walls and ceilings and therefore complete freedom of routing, then run the 12/2 continuous power cable to the first 3-way switch, a 12/3 from the first 3-way to a 4-way, another 12/3 from the 4-way to the second 3-way, and a 12/2 from the second 3-way to the first light, and then more 12/2 interconnecting the lights until you get to the last one.

If you are dealing with existing wiring, then tell us what you've got now. Tell us whether this ever worked before and you are just trying to reconnect it, or whether this is a new installation with new cable.

I am building a 800 square foot shop, so I am starting from nothing. Mr. Nelson's answer was exactly what I needed to know. Thankyou.
