ceiling fan detail wiring schematic

I have a Galleria ceiling fan, 3 light fixture, 3 speed fan (4 wire, 3 speed pull switch), with a single light switch (2 wire, on/off pull switch), 2 capacitors [one is a three wire, yellow to orange @ 6 ohm, yellow to purple @ 4 ohm; the other is three wire (one red, two white (marked "light" and "fan")]. I have a second 4 wire, 3 speed pull switch as well. I thought I'd reassembled the components as they had been, but... DOH!
Questions:
1. Does the second 4 wire, 3 speed switch control the fan in the reverse direction?
2. Does anyone have detailed wiring information so I can get this guy running?

Both capacitors and all three switches are replacements - I'm 90 % sure they're correct as one capacitor was a melted blob and completely unidentifiable.
Any assistance, web sites etc would be appreciated.

switched receptacles

I have a receptical in the bedroom that is switched on/off by a wall switch. The other day, my wife was using her hair dryer in that receptical and it just died. I've checked the circuit breakers and they are fine. Now nothing works in that receptical. I know very little about wiring but I decided to take a look at the receptical itself. There is one red wire and one white wire. I figured that this was simple enough. I turned off the circuit breaker and put in another receptical - red wire and white wire. I turned the circuit breaker back on. Although my little tester shows power, the receptical still does not work any that is plugged into it. Do I need a special type of receptical? I just used one that I found in my junk box. It looks brand new so I don't think that its the receptical itself. By the way, this is a non-grounded, two pronged receptical. Main Conduit Detached

I have a 400 Amp service running to the house. The transformer is on a pole about 300' away. There is conduit running from the pole all the to the house running underground. At the house the PVC changes to a metal sweep L and goes back to PVC up out of the ground and into the meter base. Metal sweep L's were used I think to keep the wire from wearing thru when they pulled the main. (The conduit was in place and trench filled before the service was ever installed.) The problem is located where the PVC enters the bottom of the meter base. The ground has shifted and settled and pulled with such force that the nut and protective cap nut inside the meter base have been separated from the threaded adapter that was glued on the end of the conduit run. Now the threaded adapter looks stripped and is hanging loose about 2 inches below the bottom of the meter base. I can look at the gap and see the 3 large wires and the nut a cap nut are laying loose inside (you can see them thru the bottom of the hole.) Expansion joints for the main aren't required in my area and were therefore not installed or this might not of happened. Question is, what to do now. I think they used underground cable even though it was completely inside the conduit from end to end. Can I simply dig down to the top of the metal sweep and unscrew the PVC from the metal and reattach the pipe to the meter base - if there are enough threads left. This would leave a gap underground of a couple inches between the pipes (about 3 feet deep). Any recomendations....how is this problem usually fixed.
