I have an older 50s home w/a 70amp breaker box with 8 120volt breakers I need to add a 240volt 20 amp line for a tanning bed help please in the best way

You need to do a dwelling load calculation before you add a big load like that. You might need an entire service upgrade first. Check this web site.

Dimmer Switch

I am trying to install a 600 Watt single pole dimmer switch by Trade Master. It looks very simple. Just insert the ground into the ground terminal and the live wire into the backwire terminal. Unfortunetly when I do that the switch doesn't work. Is there something that I may be doing wrong? There are only 2 wires coming to that switch in the wall.Read More

replacing an overhead flourescent light fixture

I want to replace an overhead flourescent light fixture with a new one. there are only 2 wires extending down from the celing inside the conduit ( 1 black wire and 1 white wire ). The light fixture has a black and white wire as well. Shouldn't there be another wire in the conduit or a ground wire ??? Do I need to run a ground wire ??? Please help !!!!Read More
