i want to install a 2 plug outlet in my basment and run the power from a near by light switch my question is once i have the box and outet in place and wired how do i do the wiring at the light switch what do i connect the neutal (white) wire to at the light switch and what do i connect the (blackhot)to at the light switch. i am very handy thanks in advance.

How many conductors are in the light switch box?
If it is just two conductors, then it is possible you have just a switch leg and no neutral and it cannot be done.

Ron is correct. I've said this many times before, but attempting to add an outlet to a switch with no neutral wire is probably the most commonly made DIY wiring mistake.
