Are you talking new, old, stuff with wires in it? There are several ways to do it,, an experienced user can untwist it in a spot and cut with snips,, get a piece and practice. If you talking greenfield,, with no wires bend it right in half,, I can do it one handed then cut with dykes or snips and trim the ends. Somethmes with wires where you want leads sticking out anyway you can grab two handed and pull it apart,,, with an untwist,,,,,,then cut and trim. Aluminum is a bit easier than steel. Others mad have tools or do it different but that way is fast when you doing lots of it,, you get technique.

you can also use a hacksaw and cut across the armor. you just have to be really careful you dont hit the wires inside. you can also buy a roto split which is essentially the same idea as the hacksaw but the tool clamps the wire and limits the depth you cut.i think they are around $20
