question on final inspection

on the electrical final hookup of the outside HVAC unit. From the disconnect to the unit. does this fall under electrical final or Mechanical final.

reason this is all I have to do, if its mechanical I can called for electruical tomorrow. If its electrical then it will have to wait till monday due to fact that I am not complete on mechanical installion

 

Brownbagg, The best advice would be to call your local building dept., every area is different. Here in Detroit we can call for an electrical on an a/c unit even if it is not piped in. Our (electrical) inspectors usually just want to see proper sizing of fuses / hacr breakers according to nameplate on the unit but could care less if it runs.The mechanical insp. might want to see it fired up. On the other hand, our mech and elec. inspectors usually just give a visual insp. in the winter months because the cold weather cut out switches in the new units prevent them from starting. Your milage may vary!!
