Outlets and Wainscoting

Outlets and Wainscoting
I’m installing 11//32” wainscoting in my kitchen, directly on the drywall.
The outlet elec-boxes are flush against the drywall.
Do I have to “extend” the boxes flush to the new wainscoting?
Thanks.

you won't have to extend the boxes but you will have to provide something to move the receptacle forward. Electrical supply houses do sell items for this or you can take pieces of #12 insulated wire and wrap them around a bit of a screwdriver then cut them to the deapth you would require so the devices can be installed at the proper distance.

Yes, I think you get my idea - you mean spacer out the outet.
Well, the outlet has ears/tabs that would be against the wood panel outlet cutout (and that would move the outlet forward).
My question is more on "code", since the outlet is protruding 11/32" from the edge of the elec-box and flush on the new waincoting. Am I still in conformance?
Thanks, again.

If the wainscoating is wood then you can't have any exposure to that material whatsoever from the receptacle.
What it sounds like you need is a "goof ring". If the box is not flush with a combustible material then you are required to install a goof ring.
Without installing the goof ring you are violating code!!!! Spacing the receptacles out alone is not enough!!
