Square D or Cutler-Hammer

Square D or Cutler-Hammer
When I upgrade my 100 amp service to a 200 amp service sometime next year, I was thinking mainly about two manufacturers: Square D and Cutler-Hammer.
Although I know alot of people have brand loyalty, can someone give me any factual info on choosing one over the other?
Are there other brands out there that are just as good or better?
I plan on staying in the house probably forever, so I want to put the best thing possible in it.
Thanks,
Larry

Either one,, there is just personal prefrence. What does the stores you want to deal with carry. I assume you are using the premium product such as QO for sq d.. or type CH I believe. I havnt seen the Westinghouse BR panel yet but if its anything like the old Westinghouse it was kind of junky construction. Homeline is ok,, but I use QO because I start with it and I think the boxes are better and the breakers narrower. I try to minimise stock,, but Ch is fine also.

I encourage Square D QO when possible and use it if not specified. It saves me alot of time when I return to jobs for service or additions to know the QO is there. Good quality, fair price and reliable. Alot of residential are getting Homeline from Square D now it seems. CH industrial panels are hard to beat solid copper buss, built like a battleship too. Lots of room to route the wires, plenty of KO's on top.
