GFCI problem

When I arrived home from work to day my wife explained to me that three of the outlets in the kitchen were not working. She had gone to the local home store. She was told that it was probably the GFCI, which she purchase. I installed it following the directions to the last letter, but still no luck. Is there anything esle I should try? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It usually isn't necessary to replace the GFCI. Resetting it usually works. Press the "R" button on all of them you can find. If that doesn't work, spring for $8 to buy a receptacle tester. Let us know what it says.

Re: GFCI problem

Well I figured out what the problem was, it seems a crawl space sump pump on the same circuit went out and that is what caused the problem. Once the pump was unplugged the circuit worked fine. Now off to the HD to buy a new pump.
