Bathroom box mounting heights

Is there a standard height for an outlet next to a lavatory in a sink (standard 32 inch high pedestal sink)? Further, I'll have a switch near there also for the vanity lights. Should that switch be at the same height as the other switches in the room? I thought it would be easy to find this info, but I can't seem to track it down anywhere. Thanks...

The receptacle must be within 36" of the rim of the sink, measured in a straight line. Practically, this means that you can mount it at most any convenient height, as long as it's not too far from the sink rim. I like about 48" off the floor to the top of the box, same as a switch height.

Most switches are mounted at 48" to the top of the box. But a more significant rule is to mount it at the same height as other switches in your house, so you can find it by instinct.

Both of these questions are primarily controlled be ergonomics, rather than electrical code. You are free to make some adjustments to your tastes.
