Most likely the static electrical sensor is bad. Probably easier to just buy a new one. You could take it to your local electrical repair shop and see if they could install a new one...might be more expensive than a new one though.
We just purchased a house with many ceiling fans that don't have light fixtures.
I purchased a simple Westingouse single bulb light fixture to install on the ceiling fan.
I know nothing about wiring, so am thinking it's best to consult with this forum prior to installing it. The instructions tell me (a novice) very little about the wiring.
The light fixture has two wires: one white and one black. The ceiling fan has a white and black wire coming down from it, and these wires are attached with a sticker labeled "lighting."
I am going to ASSUME that I connect the fixture' swhite wire to the fan's white wire, and the black wire to the fan's black wire.
There are a slew of other wires from the ceiling fan, but with these black and white ones labeled "lighting" I'm thinking that's where I connect it.
I apologize for this being such a simple (perhaps stupid) question. Just don't like to play around with electricity unless I know exactly what I'm doing.
Thanks!
Hi,
I brought 3 ceiling light and tried to change it myself. I removed the old one and remove the batten holder. I found two wires. One is black and other one is white. Blue and brown from the ceiling light. I connected blue to black and brown to white. It works now.
When I tried to removed the the batten holder in my dining room, I found 4 wires connected to the batten holder. Black and red in one set and white and red in other set. They all connect to the batten holder. Which wire I should connect to my blue and brown?
Please help.
