installing a second light switch?
can any one help me here, i currently have a single light and switch in my hall way and i want to install another light switch at the other end of the hall way.
any help would be appreciated

Here's an overview of what is required:
- Read two good books on home wiring.
- Turn off the breaker.
- Add an "old work" electrical box where you want the second switch.
- Run a new 12/3 (14/3 if on a 15-amp breaker) between the two switch boxes (through the attic or crawl space if possible -- otherwise drywall damage & repair will be required).
- Take out the old switch and throw it away (after carefully recording all the connections that were there).
- Put a 3-way switch in each box.
- Once you get this far, post back and we'll tell you how to hook it up.
