track lighting types

Hello all -
I'm planning on putting track lighting in our living room (13' x 11.5' - 8' ceiling) and am unsure if I should use low voltage or line voltage fixtures. The idea is to provide some ambient light as well as light above the sofa and chairs that is good for reading. I like low voltage because the fixtures are smaller, but if they don't give good reading light, then there's no point in it. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Any help is appreciated.

it all depends on exactly what you want to do and the config of your lighting track. With track lighting you have the option of using both kinds of light as well as the exact placement of the track. You have so many options that it would be impossible to list everything here. But... here are just a few... If you need lighting for reading, why not use track fixtures that will provide the appropiate amount of light for reading? If you like the low voltage for general lighting, you can do that as well. I have seen many cases where track lighting was used with gro-lights for plants.
The exact config if the track is up to you and the size and shape of the room.
