4-way switch

I have a light circuit with a 3-way set-up and need to add a 3rd switch- I know I will need 2/ 3- ways and 1/ 4 -way switch.
Is it correct that using a 3-way dimmer in place of 1 / 3-way switch is the way to add a dimmer?

The 3 way dimmer is the correct way,but you will only be able to lower or raise the lights from that 1 location.(ie if the dimmer is turned all of the way down,the other 2 switches will not do anything as far as turning on the lights.

rewiring the entire house. i'm debating on a method of rewiring the entire house. of course i know the bathroom/kitchen/laundry need their own dedicated breakers, but i was thinking of the living spaces. option 1 1) dedicate one breaker per bedroom/living room. option 2 1) Use 15AMP breakers for lighting and use 20AMP breakers for receptacles and spread them across multiple rooms. what's the typical method in which these things are done? thanks

Wiring a light: new construction

I'm trying to wire a new ceiling light. When I open the box in the ceiling there are 5 red wires connected with a wire nut and 5 white connected with a wire nut. There are also one purple wire and one yellow wire. The yellow and purple seem to correspond to the switch in the wall. How do I know which wires to use?
