Question about Code requirement for receptacles

Code requirement for Receptacles:
Any wall =>2ft. wide requires a receptacle [210-52a] [4401.2]
6ft. cord can be plugged in anywhere along wall [210-52a] [4401.2]
Hallway =>10ft. requires receptacle [210-52h] [4401.11]

A 2.5 ft wall meets another wall at a corner. If there is a receptacle in the other wall 2 feet from the corner, does the Code still require another receptacle on the 2.5 feet wall? Isnt it excessive. Especially in my situation, the door to the basement if open would cover the receptacle on the 2.5 ft wall if there is one there. Thanks a lot.

I think that the 6 foot rule would then apply. I am curious as to the "official" answer from the pros here though - I have a situation just like that and my rough-in is on Friday. I will let you know if I fail! :-)

Code doesn't talk about "walls" but rather "wall spaces". Corners are invisible. A spot 2 feet from the corner on one wall is 5.5 feet from a spot 2.5 feet from the same corner on the adjacent wall. Both are part of the same wall space. Ignore corners when applying the rules.

You will meet code without putting a receptacle in the 2.5' wall.

Code allows you to measure through a corner. As long as you have a receptacle within 3.5 feet of the corner (you said you have one at 2), the 2.5 foot wall doesn't require another receptacle.

Thank you all for your replies.
That's what I thought but the sentence "Any wall =>2ft. wide requires a receptacle [210-52a] [4401.2]" from a Code book confused me. I guess I read it out of context. I'm in good shape then.
