How to find missing/lost cable

There are four coaxial cables going into the house, but only three are visible in the house. Is there any way to find the other cable?

You could use a toner. This is what we use in the office to trace data cable. A toner generator is attached to one end and a toner find is used to follow the wire.
You could just try and follow it. Have someone pull on it to make it rattle in the wall and listen to see if you can find where it might be going. There is nothing special to it. It takes some investigation and every situation is different.

Before you go hunting for a fourth cable line, check carefully after/where the cables entered the house. Is there a diplexer there that may be combining two of the four cables?

lost cable

If you have cable, and not that junky sattelite crap, you can call them out and they'll connect one end to an active cable with RF on it and use what is called a sniffer to find the end. they may also use a tdr to confirm it is as long as the other three

"junky sattelite crap"

Let's see - Satellite;

More channels,
better quality picture,
CHEAPER than cable

About the only thing cable is good for is broadband!!

My cable is no good for customer service, so knock that one out. Monopolies tend to get rather comfortable.
