Help I just tried to change outlets from old design to new square design all single outlets work fine however on the BR where the bottom outlet is always hot and the top is controlled by the switch I cant get them to work I hooked the 2 white wires on the silver side the redon top black on bottom on brass side but I cannot control switch please help Jim

This is a very common problem. It is reported here at least once a week. You need to break out the tab between the two brass screws. If you still have the old receptacle, take a look.
