Question changing amps

We are looking into buying a hot tub with a 110 volt. It also says we need 20 amp and our circuit breaker only says 10 amp Is there a way we can change the amps or do we need to hire an electrician? Thanks so much in advance for any and all info you can give me!

No way to change the amps without changing all the wiring too. Probably time to call an electrician.

By the way, 10-amp circuit breakers are very rare. How old is your panel, and what is the brand?

10A?
Are you looking at the large (main) breaker and misreading 100A?
I've never seen a 10A breaker, but anything is possible.

Red face

Ok, after reading your replies I decided to go check the breaker for myself (my husband was the one that originally checked it) he misread the 10.ooo AIR, just saw the 10 and the A(at least thats all I can figure) So, new question, on the door there is a space to write what the amps are, but its blank. On each little switch there is a number, ex on the one for the range it is 50 on the ones for the lights it is 20. Are those the numbers for the amps?
Thanks so much!!!

Yes, those numbers on the switches are amps.

This will probably sound mean....but....

From the questions asked, it would probably be best to bring in an electrician to take a look at things.
I am very much in favor of DIY, but not at risk of injury.
Bring in a pro, and they should not mind being asked several questions to start getting up to speed....

Hot tub?? I'll grab my suit!
