Spa wiring

We are getting a new hot tub, and have gotten a couple of estimates on wiring. Both were right at $1400! Does this seem ridiculously high to anyone but me? I realize the 60amp gfci is going to be over a hundred bucks, but geez.

Info is : 60 amp GFCI in new disconnect outside, 60 breaker inside, approx. 50 feet of 6awg wire in conduit. Basement is unfinished so easy access to get from box to backyard, no trenching as conduit will be run on underside of deck (easy access, deck is 3 ft off ground). Inculdes pulling permit.

Both also recommended a service upgrade (which I expected) but that was not included in the above estimate.

Thanks, just wanted to see how bad that price really was.

The pros will definitely have an opinion on that, but it seems high to me... I am getting a 200A service upgrade with all SquareD QO equipment, including pulling out an off-peak panel, all for 1200 in Philly burbs... I wouldn't think a spa panel would be more than $500.

MY cousin just got the same work done. He dug the trench for the conduit and the electrician did the rest. Total cost was $900. In CT by the way.

I'll do it for $1300 and I would have to drive down from Connecticut!
