wiring a light switch

hello all,
I am trying to wire a light fiture (a 25 watt bulb) to a wall plug. but I want a light switch to turn on and off the light. I know this is a really stupid dumb bad question but I just want to make sure.
thanks,
tren

Not enough info. Do you want a switch on the lamp or on the plug? Is there an existing switch? What does it control? Are you trying to add a switched light and keep the plug as is?

sorry,
I want to put a light switch control between the wall plug and the mogul base. There is no switch because it is just a power cord and an old mogul base I had around.
thanks,
tren

For a couple of bucks, you can buy an inline switch that can be installed on the cord in a couple of minutes with nothing but a screwdriver and a wire cutter. These things are sold almost everywhere, even KMart.
