Permit/inspection question

We want to add 2 recessed lights to an uninsulated space above an alcove. Do we need to get a permit and/or inspection to do this work ourselves? What are the considerations? We live in Seattle, WA.

Thanks,
Dave

In all honesty your should get a permit and then an inspection for any work you do. The inspection is suppose to be for your protection and in most cases the inspection department will work with your so in theory you end up with a much safer installation.
