Question 3-Way Light Switch

Does anyone have a schematic for wiring a light that has two switches? I just keep scratching my head.

There are about eight ways to wire this. In order to pick the best one, you need to consider the existing wiring, the topology of the light and the switches, the number of lights, and the source of the power.

If you have open walls with no existing wiring, the least error-prone way is to bring the power to the first switch on a /2 cable, run a /3 cable from the first switch to the second switch, and then a /2 cable from the second switch to the light.

If you have existing wiring behind finished walls, and are just trying to make the final connections, then you really need to figure out which of the many possible ways the existing cabling is done. If you tell us the number and color of wires and cables at each switch and the light, we can usually figure it out.
