i,ve got a single pole switch controling plugs in bedroom, is there somway i can add a ceiling fan (with light kit) to that switch, or do i need to pigtail to another switch from the switched plugs switch, and have a 2 gang box?

You can do it either way but if you attach the fan to your switch, everytime you flip the switch on, everything will come on. You may want to run the fan without lights on - daytime for instance.
'Twould be best to use a 2 gang box and run 14/3 to the ceiling outlet. [12/ if 20 amp circuit.]
