GFI's

I installed a GFI recepticale next to the kitchen sink. When I first installed it everything seemed fine. About a week later it would just trip out for no apparent reason. After a week of this I figured it was bad so I replaced it. This one started doing it after a couple hours. It's installed in a duel box with a switch that works the garbage disposal. I have one side of the line for the disposal running straight through to the disposal and the other side running through the switch. It gets it power from the line side of the receptical. It still works when the breaker is tripped out. I do have more than two lines attached to the load side of the receptical but they go to the other recepticals around the counter top. Nothing has to be turned on for this to happen.

I'm assuming that when you say the breaker is tripped that you are referring to the gfci receptacle being tripped.

When you say that you have more than 2 lines connected to the load side of the gfci, how many is more than 2?How are they connected? With a pigtail? Is anything plugged into the gfci receptacle? What is plugged into the load side outlets? It is possible that you have a bad appliance that is causing it to trip.
To start troubleshooting(since you have already replaced the device) I would first unplug everything and see if it still trips to rule out the appliances. If it is not an appliance causing it,I would then disconnect all of the load side devices and hook them up 1 at a time to try and determine which one is causing the device to trip. Try these things and post back with the results.

The only think I can think of to start with is to disconnect the other recepts one at a time and see if anything changes.
