I just purchased a GFCI outlet and I am puzzled by the markings on it: 15A 125V, 125V 60HZ 20 AMP, and 20A 120V 60HZ?

The outlets themselves are NEMA 5-15R that are designed to accept the matching NEMA 5-15P cord attachment plugs. The terminals and GFCI mechanism are listed to carry 20 amps hence the multiple markings. In the US it may be installed on either a fifteen ampere or twenty ampere circuit.
